What we do
Most people find us because they bought something online and needed a dealer to receive it. That is a flat twenty-five dollars, no per-item surcharge and no handling fee bolted on at the counter, and it is the same price whether the box holds a shotgun or a lower receiver. Everything below is priced the same way: posted, and the same for everybody.
Any online seller, any auction site, any private party out of state. We log it in the day it arrives and call you. Bring a state ID with your current address, fill out the 4473 here, and the background check runs at the counter.

Extractors, firing pins, springs, feed and ejection problems, trigger jobs, stock repair and refinishing. If a part has to be ordered we tell you the wait before you leave it.

Rings lapped, bases bedded, everything torqued to spec and thread locked. Bore sighted before it leaves. Bring the optic and the gun and it is usually done while you wait.

Full strip, clean, lube and a function check, plus an honest report on what is worn. Worth doing on anything inherited, anything bought used, and anything that has sat in a safe since the last time you shot it.

The used rack turns over every week and it is the reason people stop in on a Saturday. We take consignment at fifteen percent, price it with you, and you get a check when it sells and the gun back if it does not.

Bench turnaround is seven to ten days most of the year and closer to three weeks from the middle of October through deer season, so get a rifle looked at in August. We call with a number before we spend your money, and if a repair is going to cost more than the gun is worth we say that out loud. Transfers are held in the safe and we do not charge storage. Prices here are illustrative for this preview.
On the bench
The board behind the counter has the real queue on it. Most of what comes through the door is a worn spring, a dirty gas system or a scope that was never torqued down, and all three are cheap to fix if nobody has already been at it with the wrong screwdriver.
The store
Owner name goes here opened on Center Street in 2002 with one case and a bench in the back, and it is still one counter and one bench. He does the transfers, the paperwork and most of the gunsmithing, which is why the turnaround is honest instead of optimistic.
The store has never had a website, which means the two questions people call about most, what a transfer costs and whether there is anything in the used rack, get answered forty times a week on the phone. This page exists to answer them once.

Park on the street. If the door is locked during posted hours it means somebody stepped out to the post office, so give it ten minutes or call and he will come back.
Bring a state ID with your current address on it for any transfer. If your license still has an old address, bring something that shows the new one. We are closed the first week of deer season, which is posted on the door every year and surprises somebody every year.
